Welcome to our latest update as we share some of our great new stories with you.

2017 has been a year where the community has drawn closer together, and Momentum Waikato is proud to have been a part of this.

The year started with the Vital Waikato Grant, distributing funds to our greatest needs as identified in Waikato Vital Signs - community connectedness, and youth education and development pathways. We were pleased to support the amazing work of Kai Pai Kai, Pūniu River Care and Zeal Street Youth Work, and were especially delighted to hear how Pūniu River Care was able to go on to unlock additional central government funding.

The Waikato Regional Theatre has been – and continues to be – a significant journey, and we are grateful for everyone who has contributed to the project through consultation, funding and encouragement. Momentum Waikato has taken a leadership position on the Waikato Regional Theatre, but it is a Waikato community project that we are doing together across territorial boundaries to deliver the best outcome for our region.

We have been blessed to receive funds from a number of private donors who see Momentum Waikato as a safe pair of hands to invest into their local community. One of Momentum Waikato’s objectives is to create the most generous community in the world, and we will be able to do that as people see how their generosity can shape a better Waikato for everyone, forever.

We have a number of changes happening over the next few months including the departure of our founding CEO Cheryl Reynolds. We are grateful to Cheryl for her significant contribution to Momentum Waikato in helping us set a course to deliver on our vision. We look forward to being able to update you on the plans for 2018, including new staff appointments early in the New Year.

We trust this e-news finds you looking forward to Christmas and a break. No matter your circumstances, may you know peace, joy and blessing this Christmas season.

Thank you for your on-going support and encouragement. Together we will continue to create a better Waikato for everyone, forever.
