Friends of Resthaven Foundation Fund

Support the residents of Cambridge Resthaven and other seniors living in Cambridge.

The Friends of Resthaven Foundation Trust actively fundraises for projects and activities that support the residents of the Cambridge Resthaven retirement village and the wider elderly population of Cambridge.

The Cambridge Resthaven retirement village itself and two nearby care centres are run by the Cambridge Resthaven Trust, which offers a wide range of services, with an emphasis on providing quality, affordable facilities and support for seniors.

Don Harris, Chair of the Friends of Resthaven Foundation Trust, says the Foundation holds regular fundraising events.

“It is about community by community. The Resthaven ethos is to look after the elderly,” said Don.

Projects funded to date through the efforts of the Foundation’s volunteers include Wooltec recliner chairs for the care centres, therapy tools for residents with memory loss and dementia, training for Cambridge rest homes’ employees, a community time capsule, brightly coloured bowling balls for visually impaired residents, and the ResthaVAN for residents’ outings, which was achieved in collaboration with Cambridge High School students.

The Friends of Resthaven Foundation Fund provides a way for anyone to donate towards supporting Resthaven residents and services all year round, providing a solid perpetual base income that boosts its’s event-based fundraising.
