CEO departs for dream role

Simon Wickham, outgoing Chief Executive of Momentum Waikato
Our CEO Simon Wickham is moving to a new role as Rowing New Zealand’s Chief Executive.
Simon has made a huge impact at Momentum Waikato in his time here. Over the last six months he has worked brilliantly with all of us to develop our new strategy and to point the organisation towards an even brighter future.
Momentum Waikato is now very well positioned and Simon’s departure provides an opportunity for a new leader to work with our Board and team on rolling out our new strategy.
Simon has stated that leaving Momentum has been a difficult decision for him to make, but a dream job as a leader in high-performance sport in the Waikato was an opportunity he couldn’t turn down.
Momentum Waikato expresses our collective best wishes to Simon in his new role. We are certainly pleased he’ll be nearby and will continue to be a close ally for our future work.
Simon’s final day with us will be August 29.
