Momentum Waikato took out both the ‘Community Contribution’ and ‘Not for Profit’ Awards at the Waikato Business Awards 2021 held by the Waikato Chamber of Commerce last Friday night.

Chief Executive Kelvyn Eglinton says winning such recognition on the first attempt is a huge honour for the community leadership foundation, which was set up in 2014 to build a regional endowment fund and drive transformational projects.

“These awards are a tribute to our donors and supporters, who make what we do happen - we simply ‘connect and convene’ to help bring their projects to life.

“These are people who recognise philanthropy can create positive change in our communities and want to be generous in a smart and strategic way over the long term,” says Kelvyn.

“Massive congratulations and thanks must go out to all those at a governance and team level who have been involved in Momentum Waikato over the last seven years.

“Thanks also to Trust Waikato and Montana Catering and Events for sponsoring the categories we won, and to Fosters Construction Group as the event sponsor.

“Big shout out to Waikato Chamber of Commerce for getting the event over the line and hosting such an important showcase of our business talents in the Waikato.

“Finally, congratulations to all the Award winners and the nominees, every organisation showcased on Friday night are doing amazing things for the Waikato.”
